Yep, this cute little flower ring is actually a sex toy in disguise. Made by Hustler, the Gossip Ring is designed to be a stylish and discreet finger vibe/cock ring. Inside the stretchy little flower is a sparkly mini bullet to match. My Gossip Ring is actually more of a bright red like the image of the Gossip Ring on the hand below.
Could you really wear it in public without anyone knowing what it is?
Well, the Gossip Ring does look quite a bit like one of those chunky plastic rings that are popular these days. I wouldn’t worry too much about anyone finding out unless they decide to take a closer look at it and…
A. See the bullet that sticks out just slightly at either edge of the flower, or
B. Accidently turn it on for you.
Using It as a Finger Vibe
Since the petals seem to mute some of the vibration for me and disperse it too much instead of concentrating it at my clit like I want, I tend to try to keep the end of the bullet directly on my clit. Of course, that sort of defeats the purpose of the ring, unless you’re just using it for discreetly transporting your bullet. Using the flower petals is fine on my nipples, but it’s frustrating for clitoral stimulation.
Using It as a Cock Ring
Well, it was rather funny slipping a flower over my husband’s penis. What wasn’t funny was when the Gossip Ring split and popped right off him. It’s not that the Gossip Ring isn’t stretchy; it’ll stretch up to a 4” diameter. And we couldn’t have worn it out because that was our first experience with it.
It seems to me like what went wrong is just that the seam of the toy is weak. I noticed a seam down the entire middle of the Gossip Ring, petals and all, when I removed it from the packaging and had the feeling that it might give way. The split is exactly where the seam is. I had stretched it a little when I first got it and it looked like the seam was strong enough, but I still had that feeling. Reviewer’s intuition, I suppose. Oh well.
Once it split, we had a good chuckle. I told him he’s just too big for the Gossip Ring to handle and we went back to our romp. About a minute in, I decided to grab for the ring and use it on my clit. I mean, someone should get some enjoyment out of it.
At least, while it was on him, he could feel the vibrations and it met my clit without any issues.
The issue of the Gossip Ring splitting at the seam made me wonder if anyone else had that problem. I did come across another reviewer whose Gossip Ring developed a slight tear more towards the flower, but it still seemed stable and useable. I’ve also seen other reviews in which no issues were present. So, I think the durability of the Gossip Ring, if you decide to use it as a cock ring, is probably going to be a gamble in either direction.
Other Options
If you decide the bullet in the Gossip Ring just isn’t strong enough for you, you may be able to replace it with other bullets, as long as they’re not too much bigger. The hole for the bullet is pretty stretchy, though.
And, for the record, I wouldn’t assume that this is waterproof. Since there is no rubber o-ring to seal off the battery compartment from water, I’d be careful.

Cleaning
Wash the gossip ring with soap and warm water or toy cleaner. I’d just wipe down the bullet with a 10% bleach solution, since I don’t think it’s waterproof.
Storage
You can store the Gossip Ring in the canister it came in or tuck it away somewhere where it won’t have contact with other toys/dust/heat or get squished.
The Verdict
The Gossip Ring is very quiet, decently powerful, cute and a bit funny. However, splitting on the first flower-meets-cock did disappoint. Since research into other reviews for the Gossip Ring turned up mixed results, I think it’s just a flip of the coin whether or not you’ll get a durable one, in terms of using it as a cock ring. As a finger vibe, there should really be no issues.
